Happy Thanksgiving!

Counting down the days until Thanksgiving? Are you one of those people who loves turkey and all the trimmings? I have to confess, I'm not. The traditional foods just aren't my favorites, but I love, love, love the concept of gathering with family or friends and setting aside one day to reflect on all that we are grateful for.

I'll be taking next week off to celebrate a special anniversary and the holiday with family, so I thought I'd leave you with a few things.

The photo above leads you to a very simple, but amazing Thanksgiving tip from the Stone Gable. Trust me, if you're hosting….it's worth checking out!
Next, this is a really pretty pie, right? Well, here's the great part for you non-bakers. The pie is store-bought and the leaves were cooked separately and laid at the edges to hide any imperfect crust. Finally, the raspberries were rolled in a little sugar for a glam touch and give some color to an otherwise dull looking pie. I know there's something about home made….but if one of you gets in a pinch, just remember to "embellish"!
Finally, even if you're bringing food to a gathering, it is so nice to bring just a little something for the hostess. No matter how much you're cooking/baking….he/she is doing it all. This year, that someone is my sister-in-law….and I think she deserves something special for all her efforts.

I just embellished some autumn tea with cinnamon sticks and a beautiful gift tag from my favorite source, Watson Kennedy!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share with you, each week. I look forward to returning in December with holiday gift ideas, hostess advice and all around good cheer!

Enjoy your week off for the holiday and special anniversary! I love the way you embellished the gift, amazing what an elegant tag and pretty ribbon can do! And love pie idea....that is something I would totally do since I love to cook but not much of a baker:) Enjoy the holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving you to Elizabeth. I'm not a fan of the food either. I typically make a salad or something I like like smoked salmon tray so i have something to eat. Also adore Ted kennedy and his fab store.
