Art I Love: Mallory Page

There is an infectious energy that I feel from the abstract, contemporary art of New Orleans artist, Mallory Page. Colorful and fluid. Over the years, I have become more and more a fan of contemporary art, as it seems to compliment traditional settings and infuse them with a sense of fun. Perhaps it's the contrast that it offers to more formal spaces and antique pieces.
Mallory is going to be in Dallas, TX at the highly successful Blueprint shop I've written about on a number of occasions. If you're in that neck of the woods, definitely drop in to meet Mallory and see what catches your eye!
Funny enough, I'm headed that way for a little Texas family time and a side dish or two of Tex-Mex. I'll be signing off for a few days so I can really enjoy "going home".

Wishing you a colorful, happy weekend!

Love all the colors and I bet I know which ones you are drawn to:) I love the juxtaposition of adding a piece or two of modern art into a more traditional room.....love the "no rules" approach you see today in mixing....makes it so much more interesting!

I love the quiet energy she brings to her work. That second to last painting would be perfect on an empty wall we have in our master.
Elizabeth, I hope you have a lovely trip home! Travel safe and enjoy your time with family. XO

I have loved Mallory's work and have seriously wanted to carry it in our shop as we are looking for another artist to carry. She is already in a shop nearby I think so that may not work. I saw a lot of her art in New Orleans last time I was visiting my daughter! It's all so great and I love mixing in the contemporary pieces with our other artist, Emily Ozier and well as with our antiques! I truly think they complement each other very well! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for sharing!
