Wrapping is also part of the gift.
We know that, yet sometimes we rush it. We wait until the last minute and then scramble when we don't have the tools we need at hand. I know it's a little thing, but I do think it matters. And, I'm making a personal commitment to do better.
Perhaps that's why I love these simple ideas. Above, brown craft paper, tied up with string. Insert a sprig of whatever grows outside your door and you've got a package that's exciting to receive. No matter what's inside.
How wonderful are these simple cards, casually calligraphied by KisforCalligraphy? A package of 7, for any occasion. I'm ordering these for myself!
Do you have a stash of gifts and gift wrap at the ready? What's your favorite way to wrap a gift?

Elizabeth,
I really think you need to have a shop for me to run to because you seriously make me want to "up my gifting" with simple yet pretty wraps. I love buying white paper and then drawing on it....and making my tags. I often think that the wrap should really make that person feel extra special.

I do have loads of wrapping supplies and still end up forgetting until the last minute. I blame living in a construction zone.
Yup, I always have a stash of gifts at the ready...:)
Adore those cards, great find!
I stock up on brown kraft paper at our local dollar store for gift wrapping. I did all our Xmas gifts in it with red and white twine. So simple and cute!
Elizabeth, you read my mind, I was just thinking yesterday about keeping a 'gift stash' - but I also love the treasure hunt--finding just the right present for just the right person in the moment. I do always make sure to have lots of pretty ribbon on hand - it elevates any wrapping job. And like PVE, I love to make my own tags as a way to add something special just for that person.
Elizabeth-
You are so on the money here. I love wrapping beautiful gifts, but at times I just don't have the time.
These tags are adorable!
Thank you for sharing this source.
Happy Tuesday.

I absolutely adore pretty packaging. These are beautiful!
I have a gift closet with gifts for 3 to 6 year olds...for all of the parties my children are invited to. I also keep all types of gift wrapping and ribbons on hand too. I love wrapping kids gifts in cellophane and tying with a big bright ribbon.
i remember seeing a photo of you on eddie's blog arriving with gift in hand. i also remember how LOVELY your presentation was. that in itself elizabeth is indeed a 'gift'
anything from me looks like a 7 year old boy was heavily involved. may i live vicariously through you?

I'm with you...I actually do over think wrapping & packaging a lot.Gorgeous packaging = amazing gift!
With calligraphy of course! Although I will say, my friends are jaded and take me for granted. I will hand calligraph a pretty tag with their name only to find it in the trash later. I have had to learn to let it go.
Elizabeth, thank you so much for the mention! Happy Gift Wrapping! xo, Katy
I definitely keep a gift stash and think I am going to have to add these fabulous gift tags to it - great find!!
