Matchbook Strikes My Fancy

The young team at Matchbook Magazine has just published it's 3rd issue - this one, a blockbuster!

In addition to a fantastic field guide to one of my favorite cities, Santa Fe, they have  highlighted an L.A. based stationery studio, Sugar Paper, that makes me want to add to my already burgeoning collection. 

Doubly thrilled to see one of my favorite companies, glassybaby, highlighted with a wonderful article about founder, Lee Rhodes and the light she is shining on worthy causes, one votive at a time.

Congratulations Katie, Jane and Fallon....you're on fire!

Tuesday Tulip - Via Veranda

Today's tulip comes from the exquisite pages of Veranda, April 2011. 

Conceived by Argentine designer, Roberto Bergero, for his Parisian pied-a-terre, it is a custom painted canvas, which serves as his headboard. Bold and beautiful!

Tyrrhenian pink, Neoclassical busts, plaster medallions and vibrant accent colors all add up to sheer vibrancy and joy! And, a sense of play!

How do you respond to lots of color? Like it or need a softer palette?

Vintage Living

I'll admit it up front. I'm partial. I think Dallas shops have great style.

Vintage Home, owned by Lisa Luby Ryan, is one that has been written up in Traditional Home, Veranda, Connecticutt Cottages & Gardens, among numerous others...so it's not new. But, it is new to me. I was just never able to work it into my visits.

This week, my sons in tow, I ventured in....and was "wowed"! I especially love Lisa's new eponymous line of lamps for Arteriors.

Friday Flowers - And Fairytales

My week in Dallas is coming to a close. And, though there are 2 inches of snow on my front yard, so I'm told....I'll carry the visions of Dallas Blooms with me when I return.

Each year, the Arboretum has life size playhouses based on a theme. This year it is fairytales. How appropriate with the real life fairy tale wedding of Kate Middleton to her Prince Charming just a month away.
